6/8/2023 0 Comments Naval action pc game update![]() There is a PvE server but the player base is so small that it is almost dead there. In my opinion (I prefer PvE mainly) since playing from Early Access release, I would not by this game if you want to PvE heres why. The gold gained from PvE is forever being nerfed so it becomes and even greater grind now. There are a few mechanics which help with PvP like being safe near your home port however missions always send you outside of this safe zone and friendlies will either be too far away to help you in time or chat will be dead. They were going to improve the UI years ago (still uses basic unity UI) but they keep putting it aside to work on PvP and DLC. The last PvE update reduced how much you can PvE. Go and check the updates recently and you will see most of the attention being put on DLC ships or PvP mechanics. I play solo pvp and team up w players from my nation easily! Theres even a Nation and Help chat in game for anything you may need. Just a really well made game and great community online! ![]() You are immune to Enemy Players in the Basic starter Cutter in pvp and can hunt enemy nation AI at will to gain money and Naval rank. I actually enjoy the money and xp grind to get bigger and better ships and found that being forced to start in a small cutter really helps you hine your skills for later. I'm still very new but enjoying this game more than any PvP I've ever played. You pick your nation so if you stay in coastal waters close to your hine port you always have friendlies around to lend a hand. Initially played PVE but found PVP to be so much more challenging and fun! Getting caught upwind can be devastating at the wrong time. I've had chain rounds easily pass through a meter wide gap in sails.Īlso you really need to know how to use the wind in the open world and in battles. The most realistic Age of Sail game currently available!Įvery cannon ball has its own flight path and separate physics based trajectory. There's not a lot of bugs for most people and when they do crop up the dev seems to respond towards fixing them. What's in the game is certainly playable and enjoyable (or despicable), but the UI needs work and is next on the dev list. My wild guess is that gameplay is maybe 60-75% complete. PvE is like that, but to a lesser extent.ĭevelopment is slow. Fortunes are made slowly and lost quickly. Someone wise here said that NA boils down to a dice roll in that the game isn't really so much about trade and combat as it is to see how much you are willing to lose to one roll of the dice. If you've played Elite, it's like a rougher, slower, more tactical version of that. If you are in for that, then NA is decent, although wait for a sale to get a better price. That, and there is a lot of grind and time where you do nothing but look at your pretty ship on the pretty water. Say, you're a big Patrick O'Brien fan, or CS Foster. It depends on how much you enjoy naval battles from the age of sail.
